Polyhedron Category C7: Chiral and Doubled Prismatics


This category consists of compounds of prisms based off of the triangle, pentagon, and pentagram and they can double up. When single, the compound is chiral. Ro and dro have cubic symmetry and the other three have doic symmetry with 60 vertices. All of these are orientable and their verfs are isosceles triangles or a compound of two of them for the doubled ones except for dro. They are grouped in four pairs, the first of each pair are the single chiral ones, and the second is the achiral doubled cases.

C38. Ro - (RO) rhomboctahedron. Faces are 8 triangles and 12 squares. It is a compound of 4 triangle prisms. It is the cubic version of taki and has 24 vertices.

C39. Dro - (DRO) disrhomboctahedron. Faces are 16 triangles (paired) and 24 squares (paired). It is a compound of 8 triangle prisms. It is the cubic version of te and has 48 vertices.

C40. Red - (RED) rhombidodecahedron. Faces are 12 pentagons and 30 squares. It is a compound of 6 pentagon prisms.

C41. Dird - (DURD) disrhombidodecahedron. Faces are 24 pentagons and 60 squares (all faces paired). It is a compound of 12 pentagon prisms.

C42. Gikrid - (GIK rid) great chirorhombidodecahedron. Faces are 12 stars and 30 squares. It is a compound of 6 star prisms.

C43. Giddird - (gid DIRD) gread disrhombidodecahedron. Faces are 24 stars and 60 squares (all faces paired). It is a compound of 12 star prisms.

C44. Kri - (KRI) chirorhombicosahedron. Faces are 20 triangles and 30 squares. It is a compound of 10 triangle prisms.

C45. Dri - (DRI) disrhombicosahedron. Faces are 40 triangles and 60 squares. It is a compound of 20 triangle prisms.


Self Conjugate: ro, dro, kri, and dri.

Conjugate Pairs: red-gikrid and dird-giddird.
